Introduction to the course

Welcome to Introduction to Statistics in R course

Advancing from the earlier R formate Data Science, we now tackle basic concepts in statistics and how to implement them in R. In contrast, perhaps, to how R/stats might have been previously taught to you, we hope to build an intuitive understanding of how concepts in stats work by encouraging you to design functions and run simulations.

How the course is structured

Like R4DS, we will be leveraging pre-existing resources that provide well-illustrated explanations supplemented by live discussion and Q&A.

The course includes both synchronous and asynchronous elements:

• Illustrated YouTube videos from StatsQuest

• Exercises we supply

During our virtual synchronous classes, there will be the opportunity to raise any questions from the asynchronous materials
